About the event
VIVIENNE PRESENTS KITCHEN TABLE NOSE TO TAIL: BREAKING DOWN PORTLAND'S PRINT FOOD MAGAZINE. What's involved in bringing an issue of a print magazine to life? From conception to completion, dozens of staff and contributors are involved: the editor-in-chief works with contributing editors to conceive and assign content; writers, illustrators, and photographers execute and deliver content; a copy editor checks for mistakes while a designer puts it all together; and the publisher works with the printer, distributors, and retailers to get the finished publication into the hands of the reader. Why does a print magazine even matter in the digital age? For that matter, why don't we just have AI bots replace food writers and illustrators altogether? Join publisher Brett Warnock and three freelance creators to discuss these issues, and learn how an issue of Kitchen Table Magazine is made.  Meet: - Publisher Brett Warnock - Writer and associate editor Eva Fitzsimons - Illustrator Erin Nations, and - Photographer Sarah Yoeman Dine & Drink: - Snacks by Vivienne - Wine Bar
